If your alarm isn’t ringing, your phone may be restricting Alarmy from running properly in the background.
Each manufacturer has slightly different system settings, so please check and allow the permissions listed below to ensure your alarms work reliably.
📌 These guidelines are based on the most common settings required across brands. Menu names may differ depending on model and OS version. On some devices, certain permissions may not be available — if that’s the case, simply proceed to the next setting.
⏰ Please Enable These Permissions
- ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Auto Start
- This lets Alarmy start automatically after your phone is rebooted or when it gets closed in the background. Without it, alarms may never ring.
- Depending on your device model and OS version, look for similar options like:
- Auto-launch
- Start on boot
- Start up
- Launch on Boot
- ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Allow background activity (if applicable)
- If background activity is restricted, your phone may stop Alarmy from running when the screen is off or the app is not in use.
- Depending on your device model and OS version, look for similar options like:
- Background activity
- Run in background
- Keep running after screen off
- ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Show on Lock Screen (if applicable)
- If disabled, the alarm won’t show on the lock screen — which may lead to missed or silent alarms.
- Depending on your device model and OS version, look for similar options like:
- Display on lock screen
- Allow on lock screen
- Lock screen display
- Display Over Other Apps
- This allows the alarm dismiss screen to appear even when you’re using another app or the phone is locked.
- Depending on your device model and OS version, look for similar options like:
- Draw over other apps
- Appear on top
- Overlay permission
- Exclude from Battery Optimization
- Battery-saving features can shut down Alarmy in the background. Excluding it helps ensure alarms ring on time.

- Depending on your device model and OS version, look for similar options like:
- App notifications

- Notification management
-
- Disable App Cleaner / Smart Manager (if applicable)
